You cannot help but let down by the unfair society we're creating, and be moved and inspired by her bravery.
I read it in Japanese but her voice was heard/read clearly.
As she says again and again, I agree and I would like to remember her not as a "girl who was shot by Taliban" but a "girl who stood up for the education for all children and girls"
If we dare to want to change the world, we first have to learn to know the problem.
She chose to tell the world what we need to hear by speaking up.
The media keeps feeding us the lie that a small portion of extremists somehow represents the whole community and religion.
But in reality, on the ground, they are just people who want their kids to have good life, and their neighbours' kids good lives.
And there are cheerleader fathers like Malala's father, who will stand behind his daughter to support, who says that he feels lucky to be famous because his daughter is fighting for education for all, not because a son is climbing a career ladder.
It'd be wonderful if more girls stand up for their rights. (and they are)
But what'd be more wonderful is if one day the world won't need a 15 year old girl who'd risk her life for the right of education, but all the teenage girls will be free and safe; go to school as they wish and dream big to make the next generation better.
