A NHS, public hospital is chaotic everyday but in the Christmas season it goes haywire. He has to pull out everything from all the holes of human bodies, from babies to candies.
I have spent a lot of time at NHS (National Health Services, public service, yes, free) hospitals and I've never seen a group of people so funny. They live their lives next to life or death so nothing surprises them. As the author says, yet, nobody thanks them, not the government nor the patients, so they only way for them to survive is to laugh.
I actually read this during Christmas, a perfect seasonal reading.
