🔽 Summary 🔽
★★★★★ In a most respectful way, this is full of bullshit, beautiful, intelligent, intellectual, fun and postmodern bullshit, and Borges is a master of bullshit (or respectfully, fictions), intentionally taking the piss because he expects you to be at the same intellectual level as him.

Maybe it was a good thing I hadn't had real understanding of it.
I knew the book was famously weird, but didn't know it was going to be so out there, it's not even "not straight forward" it's just out there, in another dimension.
The clue is definitely in the title "fictions", you must remind yourself this is a book of fictions, and nothing written here can be safely trusted, even if it poses as a book review when the book doesn't exist.
It's such a high level intellectual play that often I got lost, especially when the story plays around Christianity and Judaism, but it's not only because of my virtually redundant knowledge on the topic, but it's not trying to be logical or understanding.
He is definitely a front runner of postmodernity.

And here I am, having to re read paragraphs a few times throughout and still having to pick up debris after getting my head exploded.
